I don't know how the Government does it, but I use the multiplier 56/1461 to go from annual to fortnightly pay.

I worked out that fifty six years must elapse before there are an integral number of fortnights and that this number is one thousand four hundred and sixty one.

I did not take into account centurial years as 1900 and 2100 are outside the pension payment dates of present Defence Superannuants. I am aware of the Greorian Calender rule "Every year that is exactly divisible by four is a leap year, except for years that are exactly divisible by 100; the centurial years that are exactly divisible by 400 are still leap years. For example, the year 1900 is not a leap year; the year 2000 is a leap year."

Is my multiplier correct ?
