TJMALLIGAN

Hi everyone

First time I have written in this forum, right I got my copy of the DFWA magazine today and in it , it had a
brochure protesting about our DFRDB and about the Pollies would not be on the CPI like us I took same brochure
down to my Commonwealth Policitian (Member for Cowan) and dropped it off as we should!, the young bloke
looked at me and did not say a word, I said this is from DFWA from a lot
of angry, bitter, disillusioned, Ex Servicemen - who vote! beware This has taken me a long time to protest
we who where taught to obey and do as we were told. yet did as the Australian Serviceman does overseas
scrounge, drink and generally misbehave , did our job as raw recruits then as young blokes tilll we got our
hooks then onto Sergeants and then Flight Sergeants and finally discharge as so we thought a honourable
discharge nobody wanted to know us especially us Vietnam Vets. We survived, until cancer, the grog or whatever
kills us! boy good fun,I line up with the Ubon boys as I went there first before Vietnam and make up the numbers
on ANZAC day then go and have a few tubes with the boys from RAAF Vietnam enjoy ourselves, take either
my son or daughter as a steadying influence otherwise would not get home till next day. Talking to much
All the best
Terry

Gday,

Part of the transcript from the Alan Jones radio program last week, talking to the Tony Abbot, former minister in the Howard government, a complete bunch of hypocrites?

"TONY ABBOTT:
People make decisions in good faith based on the commitments that government makes or seems to make. Now, if a government puts a programme in place and people legitimately say ‘well ok, I’m going to make the most of this programme and provide services under this programme’ and they borrow money and invest it, if government then changes the programme it’s got to be conscious of the incredible loss it inflicts on people and I think this is one of the difficulties with this government. Because no one in this government has any experience much of being in business, they don’t understand the consequences of their actions for people in the real world.
ALAN JONES:
There must be people ringing you, there must be businesses in touch with you. I mean, is this the subject of a matter of public importance whereby you have to alert the nation to the great default of the government in burying people who’ve often mortgaged their homes, their assets and whatever and now are left destitute.
TONY ABBOTT:
It’s a government whose word can’t be trusted, that’s the problem Alan. You do things based on the commitment or the apparent commitment of this government and then when it suits the political purpose of the government to do things differently, it lightly changes what happens and it leaves people suffering and broken in its wake, that’s the problem we’ve got. "

all the best ,
Rod
